For all you trigger happy dudes and gals...the RF-603 is shipping

Transceiver design sounds good
1/320 sync speed sounds good
incompatibility with 602's sounds bad

Nice! I like that its a transceiver so that You can stick a flash on top of it. What I wonder is if the flash on top of the one you are using as the transmitter has to be in manual or if you can use it in TTL.

edit: TTL Passthrough, sweet!

Oh, just realized, because they are all transceivers, they all have hot shoes. No thread to screw them into light stands. This is a huge pain cause you have to ensure you use a hotshoe adapter that holds them tight without a lock mechanism.

Really? That would suck, well you can still use them with swivels

I never use those threads anyway. I use a swivel or my bigger strobes. Without swivels I lose brollies and tilt. So no big deal as far as I am concerned. lack of compatibility with the 602 that sucks.

My 602s do what I need them to do so no upgrading for me.

the threads would be useful in case you wanted to put these on a softbox bracket or something. Looks like 602's are staying

I have a few that cam with my swivel. I do agree with James on this though...

Have you seen the RF-601??

the trigger does not have a PC port any more.

didn't even know the 601's existed. Are these jack connectors for studio strobes?

YUP useless in my mind. The 602 is the better solution...Unless you have a studio and the lights are always up I guess. But not for me.
