Two issues that affected the Mark III series were oil spots and the sub-mirror assembly overheating affecting AF.

Canon will repair the problem free of charge. If you have registered your unit, you will get an email from Canon Canada informing you of this problem and ask that you send in your body for the repairs.

Yeah I"ve been reading threads about this. It's a factory assembly problem.

Was this only on the Mark III or did the 1Ds Mark I have these issues as well? Are there any other issues that affected the 1Ds Mark I?
