I saw here that Adobe is looking at this idea. Even so far as to create a public discussion on Get Satisfaction. Pipe dreams? Maybe. It'd be extremely nice to run what is, if we're honest, the best image software on what is, undebatabley :D, the best OS. Adobe is in a precarious position right now. Between their users being reluctant upgraders, the bickering with Jobs and the talk of being swallowed by MS popping up a move like this could be a step toward firming up some independence. Plus this would give Linux the credence it has sorely deserved for ages. I wonder if Shuttleworth has the bucks to infuse Adobe with some cash...started thinking out loud there. Go to the links! Press the buttons saying it's a great idea!

Photoshop and Lightroom are the only applications that tie me to
Windows (still XP x64, with no intention to upgrade).

If Adobe releases at least one of them for Linux I'll switch in the blink of an eye..

Would be an interesting move. Linux is way more efficient OS than Windows for sure. Driver support would be an issue but that would change with a big program suite like Adobe moving over.

Uninterested for now as X currently lacks any viable colour management support.

If Adobe could fix that I'd be seriously interested as LR and PS are two of the three main apps I use on Windows day-to day (the other one being NI Multisim)
