L bracket for Manfrotto/Bogen QR plates

I'm thinking about adding a L-bracket to my set up instead of fiddling with the ball head when changing the body orientation.
My target camera is D200, 200 is he longest lens.
My ballhead is Manfrotto with a standard QR plate.
Once in awhile I attach a standard grip.

Any recommendations regarding a suitable L-bracket?

Depending on which Manfrotto head you have, I know Kirk (and RRS ?) sell upgrade Arca Swiss clamps for them. I think they're $75-80USD? Then you can get a Kirk or RRS L bracket.

It seems like an expensive proposition, after all is set and done.
Has anybody have any experience with Manfrotto Junior Elbow Bracket?
