I need to get some modifications done on a light modifier, and I need to know of a place that moulds plastics (simple 6" diameter plastic discs that are heat resistant/fire retardent). Anyone know of any?

If you want 6 inch circles why not buy plastic sheets meant for fluorescent lights and cut your own?

I have a speedotron 22" beautydish and the disc is translucent. I want to completely block off the light. I was hoping to find a shop that has a white opaque material- I forgot what it's called off hand but it is fire resistant and will not burn or melt the disc (which is behind the modelling light/strobe light) on my alien bee.

Why plastic? Why not metal painted white?

You can try MAS Plastics in Scarborough. You can ask and see if they have a heat resistant plastic. For the Speedo dish, can you buy that replacement paper they use and spray paint it black?

Thanks guys for the suggestions

Carlton, I will give them a shout - I wanted to keep it OEM and just have an opaque disc that ties over the fabric (as there are attachments on the OEM disc frame)

Dant, metal works too, didn't think of that. You know of any place for metal work? I didn't measure the exact diameter but I think it might be around 8.25" not sure I forget.

I personally would buy a piece of sheet metal and some Tin Snips and cut my own.

Call any guy who does aluminum siding and ask him/her. They could bang something like that in 10 minutes.
