i've used 17-55 and it's a thing of beauty! works like a charm, sharp, fast, no complaints! BUT i had to sell it after i moved to full frame.
so if you have no plans in the near future of moving - it's the lens to have! but if you're considering FF, then go for 17-40L or a tamron
