Got a fake memory card? Especially a "Kingston" memory card?

Well, there's a good chance that the fake memory card you have, is in fact manufactured on the same production line as the real memory card.... lengthy but interesting read.

Actually, the biggest complaints I've seen online are from those who bought Sandisk cards (mostly from eBay):
http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-SanDisk-Ex ... 0001456539

Don't know how many times someone said the Sandisk card they just bought doesn't work and that they will never buy Sandisk garbage again, but of course asking them where they bought it clears the air that it's a counterfeit card.

As for Kingston I avoid them like the plague anyway...I had genuine Kingston ram in my desktop, and I had module after module fail (yes the CMOS was set correctly)...after switching to another brand I haven't had a failure yet!

Well I had a Sandisk fail on me but it's not like I'm going to ditch that brand because of an issue for another brand. Failures will occur.... there's no such thing as 100% reliability. It could have been a bad batch or just the odds going against you.

to me warranty is pointless with defective cards, its not about replacing the failure card.. its the content that's gone in the card :(

my sister have a WD external harddrive that's not working out of nowhere, even its still under warranty she don't want to get a new one because she's figuring how to get the stuff inside the drive back

I have several Kingston CF cards and I have been lucky to have no problems at all. I have had a WD drive fail on me too but to be honest it was more of the constant use and abuse from me, so I think it is user dependent too. lol

Except I had Kingston module after Kingston module, after replaced Kingston module, after factory replaced Kingston module fail. If it was just one failure I wouldn't mention it.

I have a kingston 4 gig card. Very pleased with it and replaced it with a 16 gig Kingston card (the green ones 133x). Pleased with that too.

I got a fake Sandisk on ebay, the transfer speed was so slow. I will never order cards from ebay again.
