Although CS5 is not scheduled to be released until April 2010 the early adopters out there may like this peek behind the curtain.

I've been dragging my feet on upgrading from CS3 to CS4, and now I think I'll just wait for CS5.

Yup, I've been doing the same. I was torn on the 64 bit CS4 but CS5 should be better. Hopefully the upgrade price will be the same or cheaper.

One of my considerations in thinking about the CS3-to-64-bit-CS4 has been the fact that my computer is *just* fast enough for the software that I have now, and will almost certainly have to be replaced with the next Photoshop upgrade. By waiting a little longer, I can get a new computer that's faster, has much more memory, etc., and Windows 7 that has been (hopefully) debugged. I really don't want to deal with Vista--virtually everyone I know who has it complains about it.

I think CS4 is faster than CS3. Couple that with all of the little tweaks that make your life easier and the upgrade is worth it. But then I make my living in Adobe CS so upgrades are a necessary evil.

I think the upgrade cycle is getting to be a bit too quick. Before any of us have really explored all the new features, a new version is due.
