Hello
My wired shutter Release

(model from china not canon

http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.p ... 278&page=3

)

for some reason
doesn't activate my camera 5D

But they way it looks ..as if its doing the job properly
look wise i cant say anything that it doesn't work( meaning on the little LCD on the release it looks proper, exactly like the way it used to work before)

I don't know whether its the problem with my 5D or its my remote issue

Is there any settings that i should switch on in my camera that i accidentally switch of ...which will enable or disable my shutter release...
I tried resetting the settings too ...its still the same.
The batteries on the release are brand new...I swapped with another one also ..no change

I am trying to use it in bulb mode.

Other option :
I will check with another camera...when i get to it...

Any help is greatly appreciated
Thank you for reading
cheers

check on the other camera, it might be a broken contact in the wire. My very cheap one died on me like that. I took it apart but couldn't locate the problem, even re-soldered the contacts, still dead. Now use shutter/flash trigger (radio)

I have the TC-80N3 (had this for 7 odd years on the same factory battery!) remote and I just plug it in and go. No camera settings involved unless I want mirror lockup or bulb mode. Could be that you got a defective unit?
