I am about to click "buy-it-now" on Ebay from Popflash. They are selling a brand new M8.2 at a price I can't find in Canada (including Leicaboutique).

Have you bought from them? Are they reliable and any issues with their service/warranty?

I am also looking for a couple of Leica lenses. If you have some M mount lenses for sale, please let me know.

Francis

If you check his feedback, he's not perfect, but a lot of people are satisfied. Here's an example:

Free shippin, immediate response but not exactly as shown or described. calbuck45 ( 4 ) 21-Apr-09 21:24

I wouldn't buy an expensive piece on e-bay, but it's up to you how much to trust people.

just contact Tony Rose directly SALES@POPFLASH.COM

You may get it for a lower than listing price

Popflash is reliable and often the recommended choice among RF fans

They're quite good and reasonable. Great service too if you have any problems.

Did Tony give you a deal on the M8.2?
Mind telling us how much Tony charged you for it?

I need to buy a SDHC card for the M8.2. Does anyone know if the camera will take a 16GB card? Any speed limitations (ie. class 6) in terms of compatibility with the camera?

Tony is a nice guy and he gave me a price that is not comparable to any Canadian stores can offer (at least from my research). He gave me a good package deal too since I bought multiple items.

28 Summicron-M and 50 Summarit. Sooner or later I will pickup a wide angle, most likely the 18 Elmar.

My M8.2 finaaaaally arrived. What a piece of art! I am loving every bit of it. Images are sharp corner to corner with little or no vignetting using the 28mm Summicron-M. The camera feels weighty, but comfortable. The only thing I wish they have is a better grip (actually, they don't have one now).

For those of you who have the digital M, what do you think about the Leica M grip? I also ordered the match technical thumbs up, so I am sure it will help me hold the camera and prevent it to drop  ! Anyways, any feedback or experience on the Leica M grip will be appreciated.

Now off to shoot more pictures! Loving it!

do you have a flickr account? if so, just cut and paste the URL for the image in between the or just post a link to your flickr images...

if you can work a M8.2, convert RAM images and process them, I'm sure you can figure out how to post images to TPMG ;P

Cool. Just a couple more snapshots. I am still learning the camera, so nothing too exciting to post yet. Hopefully I can post some better shots once I get to go out and shoot more interesting things! So far, I am loving the M8.2!!!

Is it just me, or is there something really different from these? I find the pictures superbly sharp and colour is just very very natural.... loving it!

you'd better post pictures themselves, not links to them. You click on your photo on Flickr, then look up, find 'All SIZES', this will give you a link underneath a photo, copy the link here and press preview button to see if it works

how do the images compare to those you've taken with your dSLRs?

Thanks for the linking tips. I will try that next round.

I'd say pictures are very very sharp right out of the gate. Even with no sharpening at all, it is excellent! I applied a small amount for these shots and they take them very very well. In addition, I find the colour very neutral and "3D". Tonality is very smooth too!

Back from my honeymoon in Europe and had a blast using the 5D2 and M8.2 combo. Here's a few with the M8.2.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/francis-mandi/3898282977/" title="L1000510-web-sRGB by Francis-Mandi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2577/3898282977_c53c0effce_o.jpg" width="920" height="653" alt="L1000510-web-sRGB"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/francis-mandi/3898296069/" title="L1000686-web-sRGB by Francis-Mandi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2475/3898296069_37ba008008_o.jpg" width="921" height="655" alt="L1000686-web-sRGB"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/francis-mandi/3899063482/" title="L1000952-web-sRGB by Francis-Mandi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3503/3899063482_69eda8bcc4_o.jpg" width="654" height="922" alt="L1000952-web-sRGB"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/francis-mandi/3898296741/" title="L1000847-web-sRGB by Francis-Mandi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2501/3898296741_1ffe0b707b_o.jpg" width="921" height="654" alt="L1000847-web-sRGB"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/francis-mandi/3898298645/" title="L1000985-web-sRGB by Francis-Mandi, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2554/3898298645_7acc185289_o.jpg" width="921" height="653" alt="L1000985-web-sRGB"></a>

Makes me wonder what magic the M9 would do!!
