Hi all,

I'm having trouble with my cactus v2s receivers - I find the hotshoe connection to be very unreliable. After much fooling around I'm convinced that the flash pin isn't making good contact with the hotshoe triggering area. If I push the flash down on the hotshoe with a little torque to the left it will trigger every time, but as soon as I put it up on a stand and start moving it around it will randomly lose contact and not fire.

Soooo, has anyone else had this problem? If so what did they do to resolve it?

Right now I'm considering a hotshoe to pc connector so that I can just use the PC port on the receiver instead of the hotshoe. Unfortunately I don't know where to get them locally. I don't really want to pay $25 shipping for $20 worth of items.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

This might be a dumb question but you are locking the flash into the hot shoe right?

I guess you don't have a PC terminal on your flash? (or in other words you don't have a 580ex ii?)

Yes I am locking the flash down. In fact if I tighten the locking mechanism all the way then the flash lifts up a little bit and will never fire.

I was looking at these on B&H:

But I was hoping there was something local so I didn't have to pay more for shipping than the product itself.
