OMG - me too!!

Oh sorry. It's my second favorite regional dish right now. Have you tried opor ayam (Indonesian dish)? Can't find a decent version here in Toronto region. Just like when I was obsessing over lok lak after a Cambodian trip. IMPOSSIBLE to find here in T.O.

oh darn - now I've done it. I should never have opened this thread while hungry.

Can't we warn people about these threads in the title by stating: NSFHP

were the natural light shots done on a cloudy day next to a large window? How do you get no shadows?

Thanks (though I did have to google 'alien bees' as I figured those African killer bees couldn't have been much help to you)

lol :D

yup they do have weird names but they are the most awesome things in my arsenal ;)

btw, if you are to light food, shadows is not the enemy...it's actually good because shadows give you texture. You just have to control if that shadow is distracting to you. If you are to put the food in natural light beside a huge window, light it from the back and position urself sideways in relation to the subject, so you get partly lighted and partly shadowed. Food looks more 3D :)

I don't know about cooking :) but maybe sometime in May we can organize a small food photoshoot session for anyone who's interested in this type of photography.
