What: Vintage Car shoot at Diner
Where: Shake Rabble & Roll in Whitby. 939 Dundas Street West
When: Sept 14th. The weather wasn't great last time hopefully its better this time. 4-5 (hair/makeup), 5-8pm maybe, earlier we go there, more ambient light we have.
Bring: Your camera and whatever else you need.
Cost: $30 per person for one female model
Photographers: 6-8 photographers.
Payment for Diner / Car Owner: 5-10 shots from each person

Additional Info:

When you sign up, please choose the shoot you want to do by Aug 30th. We will go with majority votes.

Owner details: We need collect the contact details of all the car owners.
Location: If possible we should have clutter free background on few spots around the restaurant that we could use. Maybe we can shoot more in front of the restaurant this in beginning. Last time we shot mostly in back it looks more like a cars show which gives away the illusion.
Deposits if talents are involved: Deposit is required by attendees and models. Last time we have last minute cancellations from both sides and we had to scramble last minute to find a replacement and pay extra for people who didn't show up. Payment accepted as cash or paypal.
Makeup/Hair/Wardrobe: Will find a MUA/Hair artists. Any ideas on wardrobe?

Due to some recent family commitments, I may not make the 7th. If that's the date you guys are
going with, I will confirm with the owner and core group of cars owners that the 7th is a go.

If you have never done this type of shoot I suggest you attend. Great location, cars, food, people and music.

I would suggest we wait until you are free, you are one of the main organizers of this event in my view along with Dileep.

Cheers,

J.

To those interested in shooting old cars there is an event in Oshawa this weekend. It is huge and cars are coming from everywhere. Its a once a year event. Im sure you can google something on it. If this info shouldnt be here then put it where you think best.

Yeah, I agree we can wait. Would Aug 31st or Sept 14th work better for people?

Nice. Not really the 50s look I was going for but still really good. I'm just waiting to hear back from
a good one so if you can hold off a few days until we decide?.
The 14th seems ok? Anyone else?

So far, the 14th looks good for me. However, I can't commit ahead of time (never know until Friday if I will have to work the weekend), so I'll have to see if a spot is still available at the last minute.

Sure, she is a bit on pricer side anyway. I didn't really actively look for one since I wasn't sure if you guys wanted a model.

14th works for me :)

My model is booked for the next 3-4 weeks. Would have been nice as she would have done it as a favour for free.
I'm not really hung up on the "looks" of the model, I prefer a real in the moment average person who fits into the
theme of the shoot over a "hot blond". Good looking models are a dime a dozen and they all end up looking about the same.
Anyone in for an "alternative" model? If not, I'm in for what ever the majority votes for but lets try to keep the costs as low
as we can. I have a major travel/photoshoot coming up and need all the cash I can get.

I agree someone who fits the theme would be better. I've updated the estimated cost to reflect that we don't want MUA/etc.. There are few others interested I'll post them soon

I stopped by today and let the owner know that we have a Sept. 14th could be the night?
Rain date the 21st.

Do we still have interest? Any ideas on the model?

Cheers

Are we still a go for this Saturday? Are we hiring a model and do we have a final cost?

Thanks.

Here are some models who were interested: Let me know which ones you prefer..
So far the first one is available. Waiting to hear back about the other two. It works out to 30 per person.

So lets do it sans model this time and focus more on the cars. I thnk I'm aiming for hitting the details this time around anyways.

I'm with Jordan on this one. For me the primary reason for a model was that she would be time/era appropriate.
I'm planning on being there around 7?

I'm definitely going to be there earlier than 7 - probably around 5ish - want enough time while there is light to get some good shots.

I can give you a ride. I can get you from the subway station at Fairview Mall.

I'm thinking to leave at 5pm. It will take about 30 mins to drive over and that will give us a couple of hours of light before sunset kicks in.
