Being rescheduled due to flu. Also we need a seventh strobe for the set up and we only have six so far :)

Details:

What: Fantasy Set Shoot
When: Sat, Jan 21
Time: 12PM
Where: My Studio, film district
Bring: Camera, ideas, cotton batting

Costs: A bit pricey, sorry. Divided by 4 or 5 (I am shooting this time so i will chip in too). I'm guessing right now about $70-80ish, depending on final idea and props.

OK, this is the sign up event from my Feeler thread: :)

http://tpmg.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19295

I've done some preliminary costing and it looks like some items will likely be needed to be ordered online so December is probably out for this shoot to allow time for the purchase of props, etc.

I think right now, I'm proposing the fantasy sky set. We would put the set together and use it to shoot a surreal setting with a fun model.

The sky set will allow us to shoot both fun day and cool night scenes, depending on gels and lighting, and mix up pretty white dress look and/or stuff like a Peter Pan flying look or something like that. [Um, probably not any cliche Angel wings though LOL] We can throw in some hanging stars or whatnot and colored accent lighting for sunset colors too. Should look pretty cool and fantasy like.

here's the example i posted previously with Selena Gomez.

Image

Image

Our set will not be this big, maybe 60-70% of this size, unless we find a good deal. So far a 25 lb bag of cotton batting costs about $85-$100 bux but i am looking at cheaper options too. Costs will limit how big we can set up.

I am also ready to try the circus theme too if everyone wants but it will involve more items to purchase and more difficult set up (curtains, flooring chips, hanging ring, etc.) so it may not be that easy to do in a group. we can discuss once the sign up is complete.

If we can't find the right props and set items to put either of these together for our budget, i also have a really cool Old School Hollywood set idea too, but that is much more complicated to pull off.

Preferably everyone participating would have shot with models before so it is not new and we can concentrate on getting precise shots. This is not a glamour shoot. It is a creative fun-fashion type shoot and the look of the model chosen will reflect that.

(ps - I am holding one spot on reserve for now for another TPMG member so there are 3 avail spots after i sign up he he)

Cheers!

wow, that was fast, and not one single reply! ha

Maybe we'll also get lucky and get Xmas fake cotton snow on sale after Christmas too, he he

I forgot to add my normal disclaimer to the event posting:

Rule No. 1 - During the event, no one is to shoot when someone else is shooting! The person shooting should be able to establish a connection with the model to get the best shot. A person trying to shoot in the background is distracting and rude. No snapping away over someone's shoulder, from a different angle, or poaching someone else's shot.

that's my little rant, lol :)

I feel violated by the speed with which this went up and change from a feeler into an event.
Good on you guys.
I'll hopefully be a little more awake the next time things are being planned, and get myself into the registered event as opposed to the suggestion event!

sorry bud! The other was just a feeler to float the idea of the added costs and if there was support. I posted the event now because i will be out of action for 2 weeks in court so i had to get it up.

why don't you organize the "doll" shoot discussed in the feeler thread? that can be fun, too!

No need to apologize friend.
I understand the concept full and well, wasn't expecting it to be sold out so quickly. I am glad that you found the support and interest to put it together though, so I shall look forward to seeing the results!

ha ha what does fishing season have to do with TPMG?

Actually, you're after Alexander i think. TrishH moved off the waiting list and is taking the spot i was holding so alexander would have been bumped up to the bottom of the waiting list.

If people keep dropping out so quickly/frequently I might be able to snag a spot!
Hooray for waiting list number 2!

Sometimes being an insomniac has its benefits. :) Just don't post any good events between 4am and 8am .. I'll be sleeping.

Oh, and I'm thinking that the clouds thing might be too one dimentional but I'm open to any fantasy set up.

Anyways, I'll just sit here and wait...unless you want to make the waiting list a second session! :D

If i cant make the costs work out at a reasonable level, then maybe a second session later that evening might be worthwhile to try. But I am a pretty good shopper ha ha

Or, since James thinks it's too one-dimensional, maybe you can ask him to give up his spot? LOL

There's a possibly that I may be going overseas in the New Year so I best opt out of this one just in case. Good luck with the shoot. Can't wait to see the pics. Looks like Vee is the lucky guy on the waiting list to take my spot.

OK, it looks like the model will most likely be the lovely Zimra.

Reason for choice so far - She has a nice bright classically pretty look, which works with the bright/pretty feel of the set we will be constructing (yes we all have to work on it ha ha), she seems pretty friendly, and more importantly, is on the 'tiny' side so that will allow us to work within the confines of the set dimensions, hopefully.

Oh yeah, she also happens to be the Cover Model for October 2011 edition of Playboy (Netherlands). Only downside is she is a bit 'curvier/sexy' than i was looking for, but, hey, it's a chance to shoot with a very recent Playboy Cover model!

I'm working on details with her right now and if there are any problems (communications, etc.), I will set up a back up just in case.
