Details:

What: Bloomsday!
When: Thursday. June 16, 2011
Time: 11:30AM
Where: TBD but it will be U of T area to start. A bar that serves potato of some sort and Guinness is likely.
Bring: A potato, keys, mother issues. Camera stuff.

Last years was excellent!

June 16 is Bloomsday, the day that Ulysses takes place. A novel that has influenced every fiction you have read that's been written after 1920ish. Actually, influenced ART since then. A pint of Guinness in honour of Ireland, a potato in honour of those that rebel against the English. A celebration of genius. We'll start with an early lunch then a U of T photo walk. I am looking into some Toronto area Bloomsday celebrations that I may schedule shoots of but it's unlikely, in general they piss me off.

If you say Virginia Woolf was better I will never ever speak to you again and you suck.

If you have no clue what I'm on about just consider this a U of T and more walkabout.

Sorry folks this is cancelled. You'll have to raise a pint for Dubliners on your own.

I went down to the beach for a bit this morning and got this:

yes I said yes I will Yes by Christopher Brian's Photography, on Flickr

It was nice to see that sort of interest in a book.

If my memory serves me right, that isn't just a book, it's more of a milestone in English literature, isn't it?
