Details:

What: Black Creek Pioneer Village
When: Sunday October 25th 2009
Time: 11AM
Where: Meet at the visitors centre
Bring: Bring your camera, you can bring a tripod too ... but they are not allowed inside buildings.

I visited BCPV on Wednesday (yesterday), and felt like I needed to spend more time capturing the nice fall colour I saw amongst the collection of 100+ year old buildings. I know this is a very last minute / short notice event, and I don't expect to get a huge crowd of people coming. But since the weather is supposed to be really nice on Sunday, and I have the day off... I thought it would be a nice way to spend Sunday.

Check the website for all the details on admission, parking, etc. www.blackcreek.ca

Sounds like a great idea, unfortunately, i will be in Ottawa.

Make sure to visit the brewery in the basement of the HalfWay House.

No... but fall colour and pioneer life! Its gorgeous there right now. There is a huge red oak tree right next to the halfway house which is to die for.

Yeah, any excuse to go out and shoot. It's more fun if someone else comes along.

I soooo don't think it's worth the admin price. Sorry to be a party pooper. They even charge for parking.

I just got home from hanging out with my *other* camera club, and upon arriving home was informed I will be spending my Sunday driving a tractor back and forth.

Yay...

Thanks for your comment, but if you have nothing positive to say, sometimes its better left unsaid. I happen to enjoy the village, and I am a member. Its not for everyone, and you are entitled to your opinion.

There is a restaurant downstairs in the Halfway House to eat at. No chineese food only home made pioneer foods like bangers and mashed, plowmans meat platter, etc.

Hey Maureen, the menu changed, but the new menu is nice! The food is great. I don't think we plan to go for food "after", but have lunch during the shoot at the Half-way house.

Thanks David for organizing it. It wasa lots of fun.

The Bison Burger at the Halfway house was awsome. Also getting the last butter tarts was great after returning there so many times for them.

Sorry I missed almost everyone. The colors were beautiful. I might see if I can get some time to go back during the week when it's not so crowded.
